The West Virginia Baptist Camp at Cowen is a year-round rental facility ideal for retreats, conventions, reunions, banquets, receptions, etc.

From June 1st to August 13th, our facilities are not available because of our statewide camping.

Available Facilities

Alice Randall Dining Hall

Capacity: 300

Amenities: Tables, chairs, fireplace, stage, sound system

Price: $250 a day, not heated

The Alice Randall Dining Hall sits on the Gauley River with spectacular views. The complex also houses the camp offices, Kenova store and a nurse’s station. The spacious dining hall can eat 300 for traditional family-style meals.

Cabins

Capacity: 16

Amenities: Electricity, no heat or air conditioning, centralized bathhouses

Price: $12 a night per person

There are 19 seasonal cabins nestled in the trees for summer and into late fall use. Each cabin sleeps 16 persons with built-in bunks. Cabins have electricity, but no air conditioning. There are several centralized bathhouses for campers to use.

Campsites

Price: $20 for the first night per 2-person tent, $5 per person after the first night


Crouch Retreat Center

Capacity: 40

Amenities: Kitchenette, 2 cabins that sleep 20 each, attached bathrooms, heated

Price: $17.00 a night per person

The Crouch Retreat Center can accommodate 40 persons for year-round meetings and retreats. The sleeping areas are divided into two large dorm rooms and each room is equipped with a restroom and showers. You may bring your own food or our staff can prepare and serve your meals while you meet in the centralized conference room.

Eber Bowles Pavilion

Capacity: 100

This shelter has picnic tables, concrete floors, and a fireplace. It can be used as a shelter from the elements, a meeting space, or a dining site.

Hylbert Hall

Capacity: 300

Amenities: PA, sound board, stage, folding chairs, 2 projectors and screens

Price: $150

This facility can be used for meetings, chapel, etc. and will seat 300. The building is equipped with PA and audio/visual capabilities.

Jim Cunningham Staff House

Capacity: 24

Amenities: Living room, kitchenette, heating and air conditioning

Price: $19.50 a night per person

Designed as a year-round facility with a spacious living room, the Staff House has comfortable lounge furniture for relaxing or tables and chairs that can be set up for meetings. There is a microwave and convection oven with plenty of outlets for crock pots for the option of preparing your own meals, and a place to keep drinks and snacks during your stay. The facility sleeps up to 24 persons. Each of the 12 sleeping rooms has two twin beds and a bathroom.

Kitchen

The Kitchen is located in the Alice Randall Dining Hall. The Kitchen includes cooking utensils, serving items, and tableware.  It is equipped with four convection ovens, walk in fridge and freezer, and a large industrial dish washer.

Milam Cabin

Capacity: 17

Amenities: Heat, air conditioning, 4 individual bathrooms

Price: $17 a night per person

Milam is a handicap accessible cabin with 6 individual single rooms on the ground floor with 4 individual bathrooms, and a full cabin upstairs.

Outdoor Campfire

Price: $150 a night


Rickman Pavilion

Capacity: 20

Ruth & Nehemiah Cabins

Capacity: 17 each

Amenities: Heat, air conditioning, half bath in each, full bathhouse downstairs
